Service Pupils

Pupils from Service Families, usually known within schools as Service pupils, are students with at least one parent serving in the UK Armed Forces, or from foreign armed forces stationed in England.

Dalton Barracks—home of 4 Regiment Royal Logistic Corps—is located close to Fitzharrys School, and we proudly support a cohort of around 15 Service pupils.

Dedicated Support & Partnerships

Mr. Clarke, our Service Pupil Champion, acts as the direct point of contact for service children and their families regarding any service-related concerns, and works within the school to ensure pupils are well supported, as well as liaising with the following organisations who provide further support as detailed:

• Army Welfare Service: Meets weekly with pupils on Friday afternoons during PM Tutor time, while also providing funding for activities and training events.
• Study Higher: Gives students personalised insights into future options, helping break down potential barriers to academic success.
• SCiP Alliance: Delivers tailored support through specialised events and the Thriving Lives Toolkit.

We recognise that life in a service family can present unique challenges. Supported by the Families Federation, Service Pupil Premium, and dedicated charities, Fitzharrys School aims to offer tailored, individual care to every family.
